PolyDyne’s Version 8.0: A new level of innovation
Austin, TX – September 12, 2011- PolyDyne® Software the leading provider of strategic sourcing software for the electronics manufacturing sector, announced the release of version 8.0 for QuoteWin®and DesignWin®. These applications deliver strategic sourcing solutions for quotation management, and overall product costing.
In version 8.0 a home page is introduced to instantly communicate enterprise announcements and notices that impact the sourcing process. The home page also displays dynamic statistical graphs of key metrics as well as critical task assignments with their deadline status. The most recent projects accessed are also conveniently highlighted for quick retrieval of current project activities.
Enhancements to the user interface include more explicit navigation and naming conventions to guide users through the workflow processes of new business quoting, volume purchase agreement negotiations and final product costing. Additionally, many analytics may now be accessed within the pertinent process workflow tabs for faster access, while still remaining in the master business intelligence suite.
PolyDyne continued expanding the deployment of AJAX technology within QuoteWin and DesignWin. This technology enables the browser to provide dynamic content on the web page without having to refresh the page. It makes it possible to provide the responsiveness and interactivity that users expect from desktop application over the browser. Benefits are garnered in the efficiency of workflow, the load placed on the server hosting the application, and users’ productivity.
Version 8.0 also introduces users to a new PolyDyne portal known as www.psiplace.com. This site brings professionals within the high-tech electronics manufacturing industry together to build powerful connections, share benchmark data, and utilize valuable business services used in the component sourcing process. The services include bill of materials’ (BoM) part cross referencing, part number accuracy and validation, and a market place to buy and sell excess inventory. Industry news, surveys, blogs and forums will provide pertinent information on trends and best practices for both EMS and OEM companies.
