TT electronics deploys PolyDyne’s QuoteWin® sourcing solution
Austin, Texas—January 31, 2010— PolyDyne Software Inc.®, the leading provider of strategic sourcing solutions for the electronics industry, today announced that TT electronics (LSE: TTG) has deployed PolyDyne’s QuoteWin® Strategic Sourcing application across its global sourcing teams. TT electronics is an $850M electronic component manufacturer and EMS provider based in the UK with over 7,000 employees.
TT electronics’ integrated manufacturing services division (TT ims), with customers that include Apple, BMW, Bombardier, General Motors, IBM and Toshiba, implemented QuoteWin to coordinate the workload of its globally dispersed quoting centers. These quoting centers manage all sourcing activities for its four major manufacturing facilities.
Prior to the implementation of QuoteWin, TT ims used different methods at each quoting center to manage price negotiations for Bills of Material (BOM) and commodities. Having separate systems for each quoting team kept TTE from leveraging their total demand for component contract price negotiations. The lack of an enterprise sourcing solution also produced unnecessarily long quote cycle times. TT ims uses QuoteWin to calculate full assembly-level pricing for customer proposals.
Since implementing QuoteWin, TT ims has been able to gain greater visibility into component prices in different regions to improve negotiation outcomes. Cycle times have been reduced by as much as 25 percent and material cost has been impacted by as much as 3 percent due to TT ims’ ability to aggregate its worldwide component demand. TT ims has seen an improvement in its win-rate on new business as a result of faster turnaround and better quality customer quotes.
