PolyDyne’s version 7.9 Steps up the 3 T’s: Teamwork, TCO and Technology

Austin, TX – September 17, 2010 – PolyDyne® Software the leading provider of strategic sourcing software for the electronics manufacturing sector, today announced the release of version 7.9 for QuoteWin®and DesignWin®. The release adds to the areas of collaboration, workflow and total cost of ownership factoring. Technical enhancements include continuing proliferation of the most current AJAX web development technologies throughout the applications to enrich the user experience.  Cross‐functional team collaboration is critical for success in the high tech design and manufacturing industry.

New functionality in this release assures that all documents and accurate data are in place prior to initiating a project. Configurable checklists, alerts and notifications have been designed to manage team status updates across the various functional areas involved in document control quotations, sales proposals and material costing. Real time tracking of internal cycle time, accountability and hand‐offs were frequent requests of PolyDyne customers. Through the configurable workflow templates, the internal cycle time is tracked through closure of the entire project.

Identifying the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) makes a significant difference in the success of a company competing in an industry with razor thin margins. PolyDyne has continuously kept up with this customer necessity in their development roadmap. Over the years, standard markup capabilities have evolved into a sophisticated modeling of industry calculations that address quality, lead time, and many other business terms that affect raw costs and ultimately customer proposals. Consistent with the rest of their software, PolyDyne has kept the application and configuration of TCO factors to be determined by each customer’s needs without requiring custom programming.

While daily users of PolyDyne’s software may not be aware of the underlying technological advancements being incorporated, they will immediately benefit from additional ease of use. Minimizing clicks, improving screen navigation and displaying the additional data by hovering over fields will improve the user experience and Increase user productivity. Over the past 17 years, PolyDyne has become recognized for its ability to “push the envelope” on technology to enable its customers to gain a competitive advantage. “Our roadmap will continue to challenge our Fortune 100 customers to take advantage of the latest technology to help improve their strategic sourcing processes.” said David Tabb, CEO of PolyDyne Software.
