PolyDyne Boosts Quoting Productivity with New Release of Strategic Outsourcing Suite
iX 3.2 Is Packed Full of Quoting Productivity Enhancements
May 24, 2004 – Austin, Texas: PolyDyne® Software Inc., a leading provider of strategic outsourcing solutions for the contract manufacturing services sector, today announced the release of iX version 3.2. The new release delivers increased functionality, speed, and ease of use to QuoteWin® iX and DesignWin™ iX customers to reduce their entire quoting cycle, from acceptance of the end customer’s BOM to final product pricing.
This latest release provides PolyDyne customers with a number of advanced ‘search’ and ‘edit’ features implemented across several of the process workflow modules. Within the BOM module, now users are able to conduct more intricate searches. This feature is particularly useful, for instance, if a user desires to identify all the internal and customer liabilities associated with the use of a part that suddenly goes on allocation. Within the Project module, now users can ‘copy’ the entire contents of a project (BOM, pricing, suppliers, etc.), which facilitates quick re-quotes and volume consolidations. In the Global Pricing module, now users can easily look up a price to layer into the costing of a BOM prior to sending out RFQs, which promotes supply base strategies and reduces quote cycle time and errors.
Some noteworthy additions to functionality offered by this release include a “what-if” analysis capability to support “make” versus “buy” decisions, the ability to translate a BOM assembly from “make” into “buy” status (and back), and the ability to convert all supplier bids into a preferred currency. Also, now users can add custom pricing types into the global pricing table, which facilitates decision analysis for a variety of manufacturing concerns (PPV, excess inventory, lead-time liability, environmental compliance, etc.). In addition, now users can map labor processes and repetitive occurrences of those processes to assemblies or to thousands of components, greatly accelerating quote cycle time to the end customer. Furthermore, now users can add supplier splits to cost out BOMs with greater accordance with their component supplier strategy.
“The productivity enhancements, speed improvements, and richer features included in this release are largely a result of PolyDyne listening to its customers and incorporating their needs into our strategic outsourcing solutions,” said David Tabb, CEO of PolyDyne. “Commitment to customer satisfaction is a core value of our company, and we secure that commitment by hiring dedicated people who are not only experts in their field, but also team players. The tangible result of doing this means PolyDyne is able to repeatedly deliver industry solutions that provide customers with the power and flexibility to differentiate themselves from their competition.”
