PolyDyne’s Release of iXchange 4.0 Makes Powerful Functionality Easy to Use

Austin, TX – August 31, 2004—PolyDyne® Software Inc. (PSI), the leading provider of enterprising solutions for strategic outsourcing to the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) sector, today announced the release of iXchange™ version 4.0 (iX4.0). This major release of the web-based solution suite, which includes DesignWin™iX, QuoteWin®iX, and SupplyWin®iX, contains new functionality that makes it easier for users to customize iX4.0, expand its utility, and adapt it to their needs. Moreover, iX4.0 offers new reports, new reporting options, and graphics to make it easier for users to formulate better and timelier, buy-side and sell-side, outsourcing decisions based on information collected globally, regionally, or both.

One way PSI has paved the way to offering greater levels of customization and utility to iX users is with the addition of an administration module. This module houses all previously-defined, global application attributes, the numerous new ones added with this release, and any additional ones planned into future iX releases. Also, PSI added a variety of custom-named fields and ignore flags to support advanced lookups and to help with sorting, filtering, and analysis. Furthermore, PSI added several project-level selection options so that users can easily define and save their setting preferences for bid sheets, supplier communications, and currency exchange rates – to name a few.

One of the analytical capabilities added to iX4.0 includes the ability to view trends on parts, assemblies, and commodities. Another is the ability to compare one set of prices against another set, as defined by the user. This capability is useful in many scenarios, particularly when computing purchase price variance (PPV) and when comparing OEM, ODM, and CEM prices. Also, PSI added a powerful graphics capability and several new reporting options to the majority of its reports and also to the summaries created by several of the other iX modules.

“We pulled out all the stops when planning the iXchange 4.0 release,” said David Tabb, CEO/President of PolyDyne Software. “Our goal was to make it easier for a wider variety of users to derive the most utility from iX so that their businesses could remain on course for continuously improving margins, streamlining RFx processes, winning more profitable business, offering more value to customers, managing global spend, and creating strategic relationships with supply chain partners. Towards that end, iX4.0 is a great success, and we plan on offering more of the same value in future releases of iX.”
