PolyDyne Expands Sourcing Suite with New Release

iX 3.0 Allows Customers to Transform Raw Costs Into Sales Prices With New Module

October 6, 2003 ; Austin , Texas: PolyDyne® Software Inc., a leading provider of strategic sourcing solutions for electronics manufacturing, today announced the release of iX version 3.0. The new release delivers increased functionality to QuoteWin® and DesignWin™ to complete the entire quote cycle from RFQ to final product pricing for the end customer.

This latest release equips PolyDyne customers with the ability to develop a final sales price in their RFQ process. The addition of a Sales Margin Module complements the direct material costing and labor estimating capabilities of QuoteWiniX and DesignWiniX to provide a final sales price and complete the product costing cycle for manufacturers of electronic products. By including all the functional areas involved in the RFQ cycle ¯ material quoting, labor estimation and final product pricing in a single software solution a company can streamline the task of delivering a final proposal to their customer and eliminate costly errors. “End customers want consistency from global companies in mission critical processes such as quoting.” said David Tabb, CEO of PolyDyne. “Our objective is to give our customer base unrivaled functionality through our solutions and deliver a closed-loop process that makes the task of quoting end customers fast, accurate and consistent.”

Other enhancements ease global deployments of PolyDyne’s solutions. Internationalization of the client software applies local formatting of various fields such as dates, currency as well as preferred export formats appropriate for the region of the world where the client is in use. Technical enhancements enable global customers to further utilize multiple servers in global deployments as an option for enhanced performance of large enterprise installations.

New reports have also been added to the existing web based report suite. Users can perform cost comparisons between assemblies or previous bill of material (BOM) revisions and analyze costs associated with material, labor and overhead (MLO). Executives can review summaries of pricing efforts with details on gross profit margins, and applied markups. PolyDyne continues to provide unparalleled visibility to customers through its flexible reporting on material, labor, quoting statistics and now final sales proposal pricing across the enterprise’s regional geographies or divisions.

PolyDyne’s QuoteWin and DesignWin solutions are used by leading electronic manufacturers to optimize the sourcing of direct materials and manage the costing processes. Companies such as Celestica, Flextronics, Lockheed Martin and others have utilized PolyDyne solutions to globally manage and optimize the efficiencies in their strategic sourcing processes. iX release 3.0 builds on this success by delivering expanded functionality through the new Sales Margin Module, new reporting and improved global deployment options.
