QuoteWin Upgrades Reinforce Continued Market Leadership for PolyDyne Software Inc.
April 2000; Austin, Texas: Supply chain management solution provider PolyDyne Software Inc. (PolyDyne) has released a new version of QuoteWin, the market-leading quote processing tool for contract manufacturers.
QuoteWin 5.0 is the latest version of the software that enables the electronics manufacturing industry to dramatically simplify the quoting process. It features a new ePO module, enhanced speed, improved reporting capabilities – including Commodity Management and Supplier Performance reports – as well as compatibility with DesignWin, PolyDyne’s quoting solution for OEMs.
The most significant change to QuoteWin 5.0 is the automated electronic purchase order (ePO) capability for the New Product Introduction (NPI) area. The ePO feature allows immediate follow-up when a contract is awarded, delivered via the e-commerce functionality of QuoteWin resulting in the most competitive RFQs.
PolyDyne has also driven to reduce existing time measurement for consolidations and reporting analysis. Customers will enjoy speed improvement on tasks with which previously took hours and now only takes minutes.
“One of the program’s benefits has always been how the automation of the quote process reduces cycle time to 3 days or less,” said David Tabb, PolyDyne’s founder and president. “Previous versions of the software eliminated much of the manual programming associated with issuing RFQs to component suppliers and processing the returned quotes.”
Existing QuoteWin users will notice up to a 50% increase in quote throughput with the new version due to speed enhancements and by taking advantage of connectivity features with DesignWin. By implementing QuoteWin 5.0, contract manufacturers using manual processing and in-house solutions will experience a revolutionary change, with productivity increases of 30% or more across their enterprise.
QuoteWin 5.0’s compatibility with PolyDyne’s quote processing software for OEMs called DesignWin adds new functionality that will decrease quote cycle time for the CEM and the OEM! The seamless integration of taking an RFQ and delivering it into QuoteWin eliminates re-keying and has the ability of being a paperless system. The interactivity now available between QuoteWin and DesignWin completes the PolyDyne’s supply chain management solution known as the eWin Product Suite.
“Compatibility between QuoteWin and DesignWin is the final link in a complete quote solution for the electronics manufacturing marketplace. Our eWin Product Suite now provides customized solutions to the OEM who designs the product, to the contract manufacturer who builds it, and to the component supplier who furnishes the parts,” Tabb said.

In response to customer requests, QuoteWin 5.0 also offers expanded reporting capabilities for easier access to consolidated information, fulfilling an upper-management level need for broader information on component pricing, supplier performance, trend tracking, and other important business factors.
“These new reports automate analysis that extends beyond the quoting arena and into mainstream supply base management requirements. Some of the improved information sources track parts by volume, measure the responsiveness, competitiveness and timeliness of component suppliers, and follow trends in commodity pricing levels.
An upgrade to QuoteWin 5.0 will be will be available at no cost to existing customers who are current in their “Service and Support” program. The new version is compatible with Oracle 8.0.5 and with Windows NT.
