By using CAPSXpert – an integrated parts reference database from Information Handling Services (IHS) Engineering Products – QuoteWin®4.0 offers contract manufacturers the ability to search a comprehensive component database for alternative sourcing options.
Adding further internet capabilities, the web-enabled QuoteWin feature provides the opportunity for customers to communicate with a wide range of suppliers immediately – allowing publishing of pricing requests and other types of immediate data transfers.

In addition to these new features, QuoteWin 4.0 also offers contract manufacturers the ability to transmit EDI transactions – including purchase orders, RFQs and design or schematic documentation over the internet. This feature ensures high security to contract manufactures – implementing a triple Data Encryption Standard (DES) process to encrypt all transmissions, protecting sensitive documentation and transmissions. (Endorsed by the U.S. government, DES is a symmetric cryptosystem in which sender and receiver must both know the same secret key to encrypt and decrypt the message.)
