PolyDyne Development Corporation Announces Record Sales for 1997

Sales of Automated Quote Process Software Top $1 Million in Fourth Quarter

Austin, Texas – February
16, 1998
– PolyDyne Development Corporation,
a world leader in quote process software solutions for the
electronics component manufacturer and distributor industry,
today announced that its 1997 sales grew more than 88%.

PolyDyne is a 1997 graduate of Austin’s Technology Incubator,
a program sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin that
focuses on nurturing technology-based start-up companies by
providing them with access to business know-how.

PolyDyne attributed much of its fourth quarter success to
sales from worldwide top-tier customers including Altron Incorporated (Wilmington, Mass.),
Dovatron (Malaysia), Elamex (Mexico), GET Electronics (Hong Kong),
Hadco Corporation (Salem, N.H), K-Tec Electronics (Houston),
Quadrus Manufacturing (San Jose), Sanmina Corporation (San Jose),
Sparton Electronics (Jackson, Mich.) and Tanon Manufacturing, Inc. (West Long Beach, N.J.).

Originally developed for electronic contract manufacturers,
PolyDyne’s quote process software applications are now
targeted at OEMs and manufacturers across the healthcare,
automotive, military and construction industries. QuoteWin®,
PolyDyne’s flagship product, enables customers to dramatically
reduce turnaround time and material costs while improving
the efficiency and thoroughness of the quoting process. QuoteWin
includes features for quoting material, labor and overhead
expenses within a custom manufacturing organization.

SupplyWin™, which allows suppliers to respond to manufacturer’s
request for quotes via electronic data interchange, is a component
process application and a quote management software solution
for manufacturers and suppliers.

“Manufacturers are constantly presented with complex,
multi-faceted requests for quotes and are challenged to respond
quickly and accurately with bids that are tailored to each
customer’s specifications,” said David Tabb, president
of PolyDyne Development Corporation. “PolyDyne’s
software enables executives in charge of operations, finance,
sales and information management at manufacturing companies
to dramatically reduce the amount of time required to develop
quotes, quickly offer competitive alternatives and streamline
the entire quoting process,” said Tabb.

“Having a manufacturing facility in virtually every region
of the world gave Dovatron a unique competitive advantage.
With this advantage came the additional challenges of increased
complexity in supply chain communication and management, regional
sourcing and procurement optimization, not to mention meeting
our customers’ expectations for reduced time to market with
quote proposals,” said Kevin Kepler, strategic materials
manager for Dovatron. “QuoteWin is an exceptional technology
solution that provides us with the necessary tools for engineering,
quote logistics, purchasing and program management to compete
at a world class electronic manufacturing level,” added
Kepler.

“The electronic contract manufacturing marketplace continues
to grow at an aggressive rate and with it the quoting process,
which has traditionally been uncontrolled and inefficient,”
said John Fumagalli, director, advanced manufacturing systems
for Quadrus Manufacturing. “QuoteWin has allowed our
company to manage the quoting process and consequently deliver
accurate quotes 50% faster with the added benefit of extending
value to the customer through expanded supply chains and specifications.”
