PolyDyne Development Corp. Introduces Executive Business Analysis and Sales Tracking Features to its Quote Process Software

Austin, Texas – March 30, 1998 – The complex tasks of analyzing business and sales costs while processing quotes expediently and professionally have just gotten easier for electronics contract manufacturers and business industries as PolyDyne Development Corp. unveils QuoteWin® 3.1 – a comprehensive upgrade of its client/server quote process software.

“Sales and executive management’s determination of profit margins and final pricing is usually introduced in the final stages of the quoting process,” explains David Tabb, president of PolyDyne Development Corp. “With QuoteWin 3.1, management now has the ability to impact percent markups by supplier category, by assembly and by volume.”

QuoteWin was developed in response to the industry’s need to manage the intricate process of quoting everything within a contract manufacturing organization – from material and labor costs to overhead expenses to supplies and inventory. With over 20 years experience in the challenges and needs of the electronics contract manufacturing industry, PolyDyne’s management team created QuoteWin — and its latest release reflects PolyDyne’s commitment to its customers.

“We listen to our customers and know what enhancements will positively affect their business,” says Tabb. “From the executive and sales management QuoteWin user to the data entry and engineering user, features in this release are designed to improve an entire company’s performance. Each department benefits from this upgrade.”

By supporting sales tracking, quote statistics and cost analysis, QuoteWin 3.1 provides electronics contract manufacturers with a tool enabling them to make profitable business decisions. Executive and sales management features include the ability to: assign each volume in a quote with its own set of markups analyze costs based on volume amortize excess inventory annualize dollar quote values passed to quote statistics

Technically, the addition of internal part number references and relational links to customer part numbers on a bill of materials (BOM) screen greatly simplifies part tracking. Before this feature’s implementation, customers had to cross-reference their internal part numbers with OEM’s part numbers – a complicated and time consuming process. QuoteWin 3.1 can distinguish between customer part numbers, internal part numbers and manufacturer part numbers, as well as track and assign pricing.

In addition to these features, QuoteWin 3.1 gives customers the ability to send an entire BOM to a supplier, broadcast messages to a supplier distribution list, add process descriptions to labor identifications, export labor process descriptions, quote statistics to include only work days and customize pricing options. Autofax and electronic data interchange (EDI) capabilities have been enhanced in QuoteWin 3.1, giving customers more options about how they communicate with their supply chain.

QuoteWin 3.1 is an open ended Windows™ software product developed in a client/server environment and can be used as a stand alone product, in conjunction with existing open-ended software applications, or integrated with other PolyDyne products. Pricing varies depending on configuration.
